Arrowsmith receives queen’s award for international trade
After a long wait due to Covid-19 restrictions, we were delighted to welcome the Lord Lieutenant of Warwickshire to present our first ever Queen’s Award for International Trade.
Timothy Cox was joined by Louise Bennett (Chief Executive of Coventry Chamber of Commerce) and Craig Tracey MP at our Bayton Road facility to hand over the prestigious accolade and mark one of the biggest achievements in our 53-year history.
The crystal trophy was presented to Managing Director Jason Aldridge and General Manager Martin Porter in recognition for the way we have recorded a 996% increase in export activity over the last three years, supplying precision components to global manufacturers including Rolls-Royce, GKN, ITP and Siemens.
Our parts are used in aerospace engines, landing gears and air frames, and the Queen’s Award will play an important role with further expansion opportunities in Brazil, Germany, Singapore, Spain and the United States.
“It was definitely worth the wait and it was great our workforce could finally see the trophy and meet, socially distanced of course, the Lord Lieutenant of Warwickshire,” commented Jason Aldridge.
“The Award is really down to our staff, who have shown unbelievable commitment to the cause this year in supporting the Ventilator effort and helping us continue to meet the requirements of customers who are still operational. This was a timely thank you for what they have done.”
It was a good news end to the year for Arrowsmith, with our business also securing the Fit for Nuclear (F4N) accreditation, which will help us increase market share in this important sector.
