ASG Arrowsmith Recognised with SC21 Award by Rolls-Royce at Farnborough

ASG Arrowsmith, the Coventry based centre of excellence for the ASG Group, has been awarded the prestigious SC21 Silver Award by Rolls-Royce, presented at the Farnborough International Air Show. This accolade underscores ASG Arrowsmith’s unwavering commitment to excellence in the aerospace supply chain, reinforcing its position as a leading supplier of high-quality machined parts.

At the forefront of the aerospace industry, ASG Arrowsmith have recently been awarded the King’s Award for Enterprise. The company holds major accreditations including AS9100, NADCAP and ISO 14001 and also has been committed to the SC21 (21st Century Supply Chains) programme since 2008, earning Bronze in 2013 and Silver in 2016, and maintaining these accolades ever since.

Receiving the award, Jason Aldridge, Managing Director of ASG Arrowsmith, expressed his pride and gratitude: “We are very proud of this achievement as achieving and maintaining the SC21 Silver award level is not an easy task. The whole company has displayed the necessary commitment and attitude to support SC21 every step of the way. We are striving for SC21 Gold, but it is very difficult with material and process house supply being affected. This award is a testament to the dedication of our team and their relentless pursuit of excellence.”

ASG Arrowsmith's journey with SC21 has been marked by continuous improvement and strategic focus. Since joining the programme, the company has seen significant enhancements in its operations, including leaner production processes, reduced setup times, waste reduction, increased workforce involvement, and improved customer and supplier relationships. These efforts have resulted in superior quality and delivery performance, positioning the company as a trusted partner to blue-chip clients.

Discussing the strategic importance of this achievement; Simon Weston added; “Since ASG Arrowsmith began its SC21 journey as one of the first suppliers to do so in 2008, the firm has been at the cutting edge of thinking, technology, and quality in the aerospace supply chain. This is crucial to our ongoing group growth, ensuring the firm is synonymous with quality, delivery, and value to our world-class OEM and Prime customers in the global aerospace market. ASG Arrowsmith's commitment to maintaining its award status and live CSIP (Continuous Sustainable Improvement Plan) while aiming for SC21 Gold reflects the company's strategic objectives. These include controlling key measures, making ongoing improvements, maintaining KPIs, increasing turnover, and expanding its customer portfolio. The support from the wider ASG Group has been instrumental in these endeavours, enabling significant investments in capability, capacity, and quality of service.

The company’s dedication has yielded tangible results, including a 93% score in the Rolls-Royce Supplier Planning assessment and a turnover increase from £6.6 million in 2018 to £7.8 million in 2020. With continued support from ASG Group, ASG Arrowsmith has pushed beyond its £10.5 million target of 2024, achieving a record order book.
