National Manufacturing Week Reflections at ASG Group

Sarah Stephens, MD at ASG TGM

National Manufacturing Week 2023 has wrapped up in the last month, and it's left us with a powerful message of inspiration and opportunity. It has shown us that our industry is full of potential and innovation, even in the face of adversity. Let's continue to inspire and support one another, ensuring that manufacturing remains a dynamic and inclusive field for all. 2023 has been a year of national recognition for one of our own at ASG Group, our own Sarah Stephens at Techni-Grind (Preston) Machining Ltd (TGM Ltd) who won an Exemplar Award at the 2023 The Manufacturer Top 100 Awards:

"I am incredibly excited to reflect on the significance of National Manufacturing Week and the profound opportunities it offers to ignite passion for manufacturing among women and encourage
#STEM education from an early age."

"This event serves as a powerful reminder of the remarkable achievements in the manufacturing sector and the endless possibilities it holds. It's not just about celebrating the industry's accomplishments but also about fostering a diverse, inclusive, and innovative future" commented Group Managing Director
Simon Weston

"For me, personally, this week has been a time of reflection. My journey in manufacturing has been marked by challenges, resilience, and a relentless pursuit of growth. As the Managing Director of
ASG Group TGM, I've witnessed first-hand the transformative power of this industry. We've faced hurdles, especially during the pandemic, but our ability to adapt, innovate, and support one another has been nothing short of remarkable." continues Sarah Stephens

But beyond our individual stories, there's a broader mission that we must all embrace. We need to inspire more women to consider careers in manufacturing and, crucially, to nurture their interest in STEM subjects from a young age. This is not just about bridging gender gaps; it's about unlocking untapped potential and driving innovation in our industry.

Let's remember that our industry thrives when we embrace diversity, champion innovation, and invest in education. Together, we can inspire more women to join our ranks, bring fresh perspectives, and lead us into an even brighter future.

Thank you to all the incredible individuals, organisations, and initiatives that are driving positive change in manufacturing. Your dedication is shaping the industry we love and ensuring that it remains a dynamic and inclusive field for all.
