In a bold move that underscores its commitment to innovation and excellence, ASG Aerospace, a division of ASG Group has announced a significant investment in new equipment across its eight manufacturing locations, driving the business to unprecedented levels of success. This strategic investment has led to increased capacities, cutting-edge capabilities, and the acquisition of exciting new projects within the aerospace industry.

ASG Produmax, located in Bradford, Yorkshire, has increased its milling capacity by 20%, further solidifying its position as a key strategic supplier for its major global customers. Meanwhile, ASG Arrowsmith in Coventry has boosted its turn mill capacity by an impressive 50%, thanks to the purchase of new equipment and integration of automation into their Doosan CNC machines. This automation has not only enhanced precision but also significantly reduced lead times, allowing the team to respond swiftly to market demands.

In Liverpool, ASG King & Fowler has installed a new surface treatment line, representing a £1.35 million investment in a state-of-the-art Tartaric Sulphuric Anodising (TSA) line. This fully automated line promises increased productivity and throughput advantages while adhering to stringent environmental standards, positioning the company ahead of upcoming regulatory reforms driven by the REACH initiative.

Simon Weston, Group Managing Director of ASG Group, commented on these investments: “Our continuous investment in cutting-edge equipment and technology is a testament to our commitment to delivering excellence. These enhancements across our divisions are crucial as we strive to secure long-term agreements (LTAs) with major aerospace OEMs. We are thrilled to be involved in exciting projects including military, helicopter component manufacturing, and the major narrow body and wide body aircraft programmes.

A significant highlight of this investment drive is the introduction of the DMG MORI DMU75 at ASG AMF Engineering in Bromborough. This advanced CNC machine, known for its 5-axis simultaneous machining and high-speed milling capabilities, marks a tenfold increase in efficiency and precision for the division.

Simon Kirkman, Managing Director of ASG AMF Engineering, expressed his enthusiasm: “Our team and customers alike have been delighted with this investment. The DMG MORI DMU75 and its automation system have significantly elevated our CNC machining capabilities, allowing us to deliver unparalleled precision and efficiency. This expansion marks a significant milestone for our company, enabling us to provide high-quality solutions while creating new opportunities for growth and innovation.”

The investment at ASG AMF Engineering is part of a broader strategy to enhance the capabilities of the 'ASG Aerospace' division. The company’s upcoming move to a new factory unit in Wirral represents yet another milestone, creating additional space for future investment and further expanding the company’s capabilities.

The advancements at ASG AMF, ASG Arrowsmith, ASG Produmax, and ASG King & Fowler reflect the group's strategic focus on automation and efficiency. Jason Aldridge, Managing Director of ASG Arrowsmith, noted: “Automation has become our ally, allowing us to focus on complex tasks while repetitive processes are seamlessly handled. This ensures our commitment to delivering excellence and enables us to remain competitive in a challenging market.”

Jeremy Ridyard, Managing Director of ASG Produmax, added: “We have optimised our production by embracing automation over the past decade enabling us to increase our capacity through lights out production. We us this to compete directly on the global stage driving exports and increasing our market presence.

With these strategic investments, ASG Group is poised for continued success and innovation. The company’s proactive approach to staying ahead of regulatory changes and customer demands demonstrates its commitment to excellence, sustainability, and long-term growth. As ASG Aerospace continues to evolve, it stands ready to meet the needs of its world-class clients and explore new opportunities in the growing and evolving aerospace industry.
