Former Produmax apprentices lead on STEM outreach

ASG Group is demonstrating its strong commitment to fostering the next generation of engineers and leaders through during the Farnborough International Air Show 2024. As part of the broader effort to inspire young minds, FIA 2024 is this year running the ‘Pioneers of Tomorrow’ event at the air show, demonstrating dedication to education and innovation in the aerospace industry; a cause which ASG Group deeply shares through its STEM work and apprenticeship training.

Simon Weston, Group Managing Director of ASG Group, stated, "The Farnborough International Air Show is a pivotal platform for us to connect with industry leaders, showcase our innovations, and explore new business opportunities. Beyond this, it also provides an excellent opportunity to engage with the next generation of aerospace professionals through our various STEM initiatives."

ASG Group has a longstanding tradition of investing in STEM education and apprenticeships, crucial for addressing the skills gap in the manufacturing and aerospace sectors. The company's partnership with the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) at Ansty Park exemplifies this commitment. This collaboration has enabled ASG to offer state-of-the-art training and development opportunities for young people, ensuring they receive the best possible start in their engineering careers.

"We're thrilled to be taking on this latest cohort of manufacturing apprenticeships," said Weston. "Investing in young people and developing the next generation of engineers is a key part of our business strategy. By partnering with MTC, we're able to provide our apprentices with the very best training and development opportunities, which will help them thrive in their careers and contribute to the future success of our business."

Jason Aldridge, Managing Director of ASG Arrowsmith, echoed this sentiment: "The partnership with MTC is a testament to ASG Group's commitment to innovation and excellence in manufacturing. By working with one of the UK's leading advanced manufacturing centres, ASG Group ensures that its apprentices receive the most up-to-date training and skills."

Jeremy Ridyard, Managing Director of ASG Produmax, highlighted the success stories emerging from their award winning apprenticeship programme: "Our apprentices have achieved remarkable milestones, with many continuing to degree-level qualifications. This showcases the quality of our training programs and people and the potential for career growth within ASG Group."

While the 'Pioneers of Tomorrow' event at the Farnborough International Air Show serves as a significant platform for engaging young minds, it is just one aspect of ASG Group's broader commitment to STEM. By continuously investing in education and training, ASG Group is playing a crucial role in shaping the future of the aerospace industry.
