ASG Group customer Airbus in Turkish airlines order

ASG Group customers Airbus & Rolls-Royce announce bumper order haul from Turkish Airlines.

Turkish Airlines, Türkiye's national carrier, is set to expand its fleet with a substantial order of 220 aircraft manufactured by key ASG Group customer; Airbus. This includes 150 of Airbus' best-selling A321s and 70 of the world's most modern and efficient A350 widebody aircraft, comprising 50 A350-900s, 15 A350-1000s, and 5 A350F freighters. This announcement follows previous orders for 10 A350-900s in September and four A350-900s in July 2023, bringing Turkish Airlines' total orderbook for Airbus aircraft to 504, with 212 already delivered.

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee of Turkish Airlines, expressed that this landmark order signifies the airline's commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and a sustainable future. The addition of advanced Airbus aircraft aims to enhance operational capabilities and contribute significantly to environmental goals, marking a crucial milestone in Türkiye's aviation industry evolution. By modernizing the fleet with more efficient and environmentally friendly aircraft, Turkish Airlines aims to reinforce its leading position in global aviation and contribute to Türkiye's prominence as an aviation hub.

ASG Group Managing Director Simon Weston commented; "ASG Group have a sterling reputation and history working with the major global players in the aerospace industry and have been key suppliers to both Rolls-Royce and Airbus across our 9 manufacturing sites - we'll be right behind them in supporting these fantastic companies with their ongoing supply chain needs in aero engine components, flight control assemblies, tooling and shipping media as well as supporting with AOG and UOR components. The ongoing reception these aircraft are receiving from major airlines is a reflection of the quality and confidence in these fantastic aircraft platforms" said Weston

Christian Scherer, Airbus Chief Commercial Officer and Head of International, commended Turkish Airlines' bold vision in ordering the latest generation aircraft. The A350-900, A350-1000, A350F, and A321 are expected to be flagship aircraft in their categories, driving efficiency and shaping the airline's future expansion sustainably.

The A321neo, the largest aircraft in Airbus' A320neo Family, stands out for its unparalleled range and performance. Equipped with new generation engines and Sharklets, it offers a 50% noise reduction, more than 20% fuel savings, and CO₂ reduction compared to previous generation single-aisle aircraft. With the widest single-aisle cabin in the sky, the A321neo maximizes passenger comfort.

The A350, touted as the world's most modern and efficient widebody aircraft, leads in the 300-410 seater category, demonstrating efficiency across short-haul to ultra-long-haul routes up to 9,700nm. Its clean sheet design incorporates state-of-the-art technologies, aerodynamics, lightweight materials, and latest generation engines, resulting in a 25% advantage in fuel burn, operating costs, and CO₂ emissions, along with a 50% noise reduction compared to previous generation competitors.

The A350 Family includes the A350-900 and the longer fuselage A350-1000, both offering an ultimate passenger experience on even the longest flights. By the end of November 2023, the A350 Family had garnered 1,072 orders from 57 leading customers globally.

The A350F, featuring the largest main deck cargo door and optimized fuselage length for cargo operations, incorporates over 70% advanced materials and efficient Rolls-Royce engines, providing a 20% lower fuel burn and CO₂ emission advantage over its closest competitor. Turkish Airlines' endorsement has brought the A350F orderbook to 50 orders from nine customers since its launch at the Dubai Airshow two years ago.

We’re really proud to be working with these world class brands.
